This program will cover the role of advance directives in the changing world of hospital administration (especially the Medicare waiver changes under the ACA) and include a practical discussion of actually using advance directives in a hospital environment.

An energetic speaker, Dr. Nazarian has had much experience in dealing with families and patients in highly stressful situations, and can explain how advance directives can make dealing with health care issues far better.  She will also provide some war stories from the ICU, and some success stories as well.

In addition, Alan Eason, an attorney who recently retired from the Attorney General’s Office, will explain what MOLST(Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) is and how it fits into our continuum of health care decision-making.
